Home :: HPI '09 Conference & ExhibitionHPI '09Day 1 of the HPI Conference & Exhibition got underway on Tuesday, September 22nd at Long Harbour. Following registration the official opening took place in the Long Harbour community hall and was followed by a luncheon with Project Director, Mr. Rinaldo Stefan, from Vale Inco NL as guest speaker. The luncheon was followed by Conference Session 1 which included two exhibitor podium segments and a session on Mega Project Construction Sites - How To Do Business. The next phase of the conference took place at the Placentia Parc Arena in Placentia. Following the official opening of the trade show was a meet and greet at the Star of the Sea Hall which included a dinner and a keynote address. Day 2 of the conference began with a breakfast with a presentation by the president of 3M Canada. Conference Session 2 included two exhibitor podium segments and an update on the Long Harbour processing plant construction by Dan Donnelly of Vale Inco NL. Conference Session 3 also included two exhibitor podium segments and a session on regional diversification. The Trade Show closed at 3:45 p.m. with exhibition prize draws. A benefit night followed at the Placentia Cultural Arts Centre. Day 3 of the conference included a golfer's breakfast followed by a golf tournament and ended with a BBQ social. |
